Received his Bachelor’s Degree in Zoology and Doctor of Medicine from the University of Santo Tomas. His General Surgery and Urology Residency Training at the same institution.

Dr. Lusaya is a graduate of the Urologic Oncology and Endourology Fellowship (under Professor Tony Costello and Justin Peters) at the St. Vincent’s Hospital, affiliate of the University of Melbourne in Australia from 1994-1995. Had his Basic training in Microsurgery at St. Vincents Hospital Microsurgical Research Unit in 1995. And recently Male Reproductive Medicine and Advanced Microsurgery at NYPH, Weill Cornell Medical Center New York, USA (under Drs Marc Goldstein, Philip S. Li and Peter Schlegel).

He is highly skilled in ureteroscopic laser lithotripsy, percutaneous nephrostolithotomy (PCNL), mini-PCNL and microvascular reconstruction of surgically obliterated vas (Vasectomy reversal {VV or EV}). Has the most number (currently at 658+ cases for the past 18 years) of successful open radical prostatectomy (Non-nerve sparing and Nerve sparing technique) Prostate Cancer cases in the Philippines. His excellent open surgical skills combined with a profound understanding of the principles of urologic oncology complement his expertise in laparoscopic treatment of genitourinary tract malignancies and robotic assisted urological surgery.

He received his certification in Prostate Brachytherapy at the Chicago Prostate Cancer, in 2006 and his certification as a robotic console surgeon in 2010 from the Children’s Hospital Boston, affiliate of the Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts, USA.

Dr. Lusaya has published education videos and on-line articles in Medscape Urology, numerous articles in several peer-review journals including the Journal of Endourology, International Journal of Urology and the Philippine Journal of Urology. He has been invited to speak in various local and foreign conferences in urology and serves as a member of NCCN International panel for Prostate Cancer in Asia.
