Dr. Marissa Bravo Garcia graduated in April 1997 from the University of Santo Tomas (UST) in Manila, Philippines with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics. In the same year, she took and passed the nutritionist-dietitian licensure examination. In April 2002, she completed her medical school at the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery from the same university. She then finished a rotating postgraduate internship at the Makati Medical Center in April of 2003.
In February 2004, she pursued residency training in Internal Medicine at Perpetual Succour Hospital – Cebu Heart Institute, which she had completed in March 2007. She was then board certified by the Philippine College of Physician (PCP) after a year. Currently she is a fellow of the said society. Dr. Garcia afterwards, took her Masters in Internal Medicine major in Diabetology at UERMMC-ISDFI while having her clinical fellowship in Diabetes at the Capitol Medical Center under the guidance of two renowned Diabetologists in the country, Drs. Ricardo E. Fernando and Rima T. Tan.
Dr. Garcia is an active staff and practicing as Internist-Diabetologist at the Saint Paul Chartres Medical Specialty Center at Perpetual Succour Hospital Cebu. She’s actively participating in both local and international conventions and conduct lectures on diabetes to both lay and medical communities.
