Dr. Florencio Lucero is a trained plastic and reconstructive surgeon both in the Philippines and in the United States. He retired as professor from the University of the Philippines – Philippine General Hospital (UP-PGH) in 2011 where he served as chief of the division of Plastic Surgery for seventeen years, and trained thirty-five plastic surgeons. He has been in practice for the last thirty-two years and is currently affiliated with Manila Doctors Hospital, Asian Hospital and Medical Center, VRP Medical Center and the Manila Adventist Medical Center. He also practices in Beverly Hills Medical Group and holds clinic in Medical Plaza Ortigas in Ortigas Center, Pasig City. Dr. Lucero also maintains a practice in Dubai, UAE with the London Center for Aesthetic Surgery – Gulf.
Dr. Lucero has held several key positions in various societies. He served two terms as president of the Philippine Association of Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgeons (PAPRAS). He was the national secretary for the Philippines for the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS). He has served as regent of the Philippine College of Surgeons and most recently, was elected Secretary-General of the Oriental Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (OSAPS).
Apart from engaging in a busy clinical practice of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, Dr. Lucero is actively involved in the clinical applications of Autologous Fat Stem Cell Transplant for degenerative diseases and anti-aging. His experience with Autologous Fat Stem Cell treatment began in 2006. In 2008, he conducted a study on the efficacy and safety of autologous fat stem cell transplant in the management of type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus patients, showing promising results. This 2013, he joined the International Society of Plastic Regenerative Surgery, composed of plastic surgeons involved in stem cell research and clinical applications.
